Thoughts Become Things - Habitare 2013

Hello Bunnies, long time no see! I have been taking a vacation from me and my blog for a while.
Well, also less time than in the summer and less light especially inside also. Also I haven't got that mirror on the wall yet (an ordinary drill just won't do the trick), so my head is chopped off (which is btw really bad feng shui) unless I am sitting or on my knees.

Nemo made some ice cream cone art from foam clay.

Going to a birthday party. Nemo behaving like a snot-nosed young bloke, who is leaning to the wall and spitting on the street.
There have been some design happenings in Helsinki lately, Design Market last weekend and Habitare 2013 this week and weekend. Habitare was a little disappointment for me this year. I hope that will be compensated in Stockholm's Design Week and Furniture Fair, where we are going with school in February.
Eero Aarnio's seats. Kids love them too.
 Lot's of colour changing lights.
I think this was one of the best things this year. Sara Kokko's (Aalto University) swinging circle.
I tried it, it felt great. So simple, so brilliant.
 Black hole made of newspapers.
Verner Panton's lamps (below) like every year. I have named my son after Verner Panton, I have always loved his design and ideas. So Nemo's second name is Verner. (The name also refers to Jules Verne who has written about Captain Nemo.)
I see this style chairs nowadays everywhere I look.

These rocking chairs were really popular. People just sat on them and started talking and laughing.
These are actually acoustic sound absorbers (from Sounds of Science). But their great visuality got me interested.
 Leds, leds, leds everywhere.
Some colourful and funny office furniture, adi.fi.

Then upstairs. Nice dinner table...
...and then to the art section:

I forgot these artist's names, sorry.

Below Jani Leinonen: The Assasination of Dior. And Assassination of Chanel no. 5 below that also. Gunshots in framed print.

More Jani Leinonen, Your Beliefs. It is actually the quote by Gandhi. Great wisdom, nice art.
Fun...

...and This Is The Way.

Bye and see You soon <3

New Perspective

Hi again after a little pause! I have been too busy to blog lately. The autumn has started and so has my studies, other hobbies and bringing Nemo back and forth to daycare (actually eveningcare) and home.

Another reason for not blogging for a while is that I have been arranging my furniture differently. This change really is a big thing for me, changing perspective, looking things from another angle. And I think the new furniture arrangement is much better than the old one in many ways. Even making the bed is much easier now when the bed is not stucked in one corner anymore. I haven't hanged the mirror on the wall yet, it is now just leaning against the wall. Maybe this is a good reason for finally getting a camera stand. Or maybe You'll just have to look at me posing sitting on the floor from now on :) Well, that is not so bad, just nice change for a while actually. But I need a big hammer drill for the screw holes of the mirror. I don't think we are allowed to borrow the equipments from school, but the nearby library is lending the hammer drill for free. I just have to queue for some weeks, because it is so popular.

I may make a post of the interior decoration of my home later. But first I'll have to finish everything, also hang some frames, pictures and heart mobile differently and paint one spot too. I am thinking of painting one wall also.

Despite of the September the lovely summer has continued! I have been wearing very summery clothes still. Yesterday it was 23 degrees Celsius so of course I went swimming! My nearest beach is within a nice little walk, about two kilometres from home. The water was really warm, I walked to the water straight away after taking my dress off. Usually I am really wussy with sea water :)
I was wearing this frilly dress and turquoise-brown bikini underneath it.
I remember the same thing was in 2011, the water was very swimmable still in September, which is not always so in Finland. We then took a long weekend off with my friend and travelled to her summer cottage and had lovely time swimming and going sauna for few days around this time in autumn. Couple of nostalgia photos here.
This is from the same trip. The backround forest looks amazingly magical here!
Yesterday evening we watched Madagascar 3, a gift from a friend for Nemo. This song 'Love Always Comes As a Surprise' is from the soundtrack.

Bye and see You soon! <3
